Samuel Newlands

I'm a philosopher by training (Yale) and trade (Notre Dame). I'm also the chair of the Philosophy Department here at Notre Dame. My published work focuses on early modern metaphysics and philosophy of religion — you can read more on my research page. Comments are welcomed, so long as they don't begin with insults — save those for your conclusion.

When not working or spending time with family, I enjoy reading, cheering on the Mets (often a dismal affair), retro gaming, listening to Springsteen, and swinging a tennis racquet (and, more recently, a pickleball paddle).
